Nottinghamshire pride’s itself on the warm welcome given to all visitors. Many accommodation and attraction owners are dedicated to DDA and ensuring that your visit is safe and the best that it can be. We have around 80 hotels and over 50 attractions that are disabled friendly. Here’s a few idea’s on how to make your visit to Notts easier and more accessible. The city centre is pedestrianised and getting round on the buses and trams is easy. A day return ticket for the tram and all NCT buses is £2.20 and for family groups its discounted to £5. A family group includes up to 2 adults and 4 children aged 16 an under. The Nottingham tram and buses operators all use low level doors. If you need help getting around the counties main shopping area’s you’ll find Shopmobility schemes in the city and surrounding towns. Shopmobility schemes lend manual wheelchairs and powered wheelchairs and scooters to members of the public with limited mobility. The schemes are available to anyone with a permanent or temporary injury you do not have to be registered disabled to use them. Those visitors with mobility difficulties shouldn’t be put off by our outdoor offer. Clumber Park offers free motorized vehicle hire and has many accessible paths around the park. Similarly Rufford Country Park has plenty of fully accessible areas for wheelchair users and those using motorized transport.
